“Young children have precious imaginations that need to be nurtured and celebrated as brilliance.” Gina’s Gyil & World Music Magic is a program that specializes in creative dramatics, movement, music and storytelling. In a group setting, Gina directs the children to create an imaginary world for playing and learning together. Using various percussion instruments, toys, everyday objects, and other surprises, the children will travel to imaginary places, create songs, share ideas, and use their own language skills to sculpt a setting for improvisational play. The program will excite any young child and open all of our minds to the power of using “the arts” to teach basic life skills and concepts.
As a music educator, recording artist and performer, Ferrera has witnessed powerful responses to this music; human, spiritual, of “complete connectedness”. She has shared countless brilliant moments between children, educators and parents. People are seeking to identify with “culture”, finding life-purpose through nature, ritual, and community. This ancient musical tradition, as carried down for centuries, holds the key to a realization of peace, purpose, value and a sense of community among all people. There are deep lessons within cultural exchange, messages that apply across borders. Many have seen the power of this music as it breaks down barriers, open minds and heal hearts. With this positive collaborative music project, Gina can take action with the spirit to move, inspire change, and celebrate peace.
